Since the brutal Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7th, killing over 1,200 innocent civilians and kidnapping hundreds as hostages, the West has seen a significant rise in anti-Semitic sentiment, speech, and actions. Seemingly uncontroversial things, such as posters to remind people of those that Hamas kidnapped hanging on the streets have been torn down by a type of person that used to be uncommon: a supporter of terrorist organizations. These terrorist dreamers have become prevalent all throughout the West, but they can be especially found on the campuses of elite colleges in the United States, such as Harvard.

It goes without saying that tearing down posters of missing Jewish babies is anti-Semitic. It should, additionally, go without saying that denying the right of the State of Israel to exist, chanting “from the river to the sea,” a call for the abolition of the State of Israel, is anti-Semitic. Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism, and denying the right of the Jewish people to form a Jewish state cannot be described any other way. Why then, have these atrocious views become mainstream in elite colleges and among those 18-24 years old, especially within the United States?

Identity politics and woke ideology are largely to blame. Instead of choosing to move past America’s racist past and understanding that no country has a perfect history, the woke decide to claim that America is irredeemably racist, and that the racism is worse than it has ever been. Really? Worse than during slavery? Worse than during segregation? This kind of un-American, unpatriotic sentiment that couldn’t be further from the truth becomes the prevailing belief. In the past, “not seeing” race was the goal. Now, everything is about race, and this is apparently a good thing! Why is more racism a good thing? Why is the Land of Lincoln tearing down his statues and cancelling him? He did free the slaves, after all. The woke ideology makes no sense and exists solely to cause disarray and self-loathing among Americans, a reprehensible cause.

Despite this atrocity, the woke has one more trick up its sleeve: those affected by the “woke mind virus” only seem to be able to find two kinds of people in the world: oppressors and victims. The victims tend to be people of color and those with less money. In this context, looking at the Israel-Hamas war, it is clear that actually, the Hamas terrorists are the victims, and the Israelis are colonizers and oppressors! No, this claim has no link to, and does not reflect, reality. The amount of mental gymnastics one must perform in order to arrive at that conclusion is staggering, and yet, this is a view that around half of 18–24-year-olds in America accept as fact.

Terrorist acts are never justified. Rape as an act of war is never justified. Burning Jewish babies to death in ovens is never justified. The Holocaust ended, and we all said “never again.” Let us remember this while Hamas is playing its charm offensive, seeking to force the international community to end Israel’s war against the terrorist group. Let us support Israel as it eliminates Hamas once and for all. Those who boil babies to death are not the oppressed resisting their oppressors, they are the Devil in (a very bad) disguise.

Recently, the presidents of UPenn, Harvard, and MIT testified before the House of Representatives on anti-Semitism. None of them could say unequivocally that “calling for the genocide of Jews” was considered to be “bullying or harassment,” instead opting to say that it is a “context-dependent” and that it would be bullying or harassment if it led to the action of committing the genocide. Two of these three still have their jobs. This is what the Woke does. As a nation, we must ensure the safety of Jewish students on college campuses and we must fight against anti-Semitism in all forms, no matter how it disguises itself. “Never again” is now.
